Imogen Nelson

Imogen is a popular and accomplished junior, who prosecutes and defends serious criminal cases.
She is routinely instructed in cases involving homicide and infanticide, firearms, drug trafficking and other serious criminal conspiracies (such as commercial scale armed robbery). She is sought after for her experience in cases involving complex and challenged expert evidence, including pathology and other medical evidence, DNA, firearms (and other forensic evidence), accountancy, EncroChat and Modern Slavery.
Imogen has specialist experience as a led junior in cases involving non-accidental head injury (and other assaults), which have resulted in the death or serious injury of infants and children.
She receives regular instructions to defend cases involving sexual allegations, including rape.
Imogen is a Grade 3 CPS Advocate Panel member and has prosecuted on behalf of other agencies, including HMRC and the Insolvency Service. Imogen receives regular instructions to advise on LPP.
She is knowledgeable about financial regulation, having been seconded within the Enforcement Department at the FCA.
Imogen is meticulous in her approach towards client and witness care, with considerable experience of handling young and/or vulnerable defendants and witnesses.
Before joining Chambers, Imogen worked at a criminal solicitor's firm in Kent.
