 James’ practice encompasses all areas of criminal law and related fields, both for the prosecution and defence. He is known for his meticulous case preparation, tactical acumen and courtroom presence.

 Appearing as junior alone, led or leading junior, James has experience of cases of gravity, complexity and scale, as well as those attracting public interest.

 James has particular expertise prosecuting and defending allegations of fraud and associated offences, including high value money laundering, cybercrime, bribery and corruption, VAT and income tax frauds, and offences under the Customs & Excise Management Act 1979.

 James also has experience in advising and appearing in matters before the Court of Appeal.
