Paul accepts instructions in all criminal and related regulatory or disciplinary matters. His work has involved prosecuting and defending at all levels up to and including the Court of Appeal in cases involving allegations of murder, rape, serious violence, the production and supply of class A drugs, firearms, fraud, asset forfeiture and confiscation proceedings, inquests and courts-martial. 

He is a member of the Attorney General's combined list of advocates and is a graded level 3 advocate for the Crown Prosecution Service, as well as being a member of their accredited list of rape prosecutors (renewed until 2020).

 He attended the Advocacy Training Council’s vulnerable witness pilot training course at the Central Criminal Court in September 2015 and completed the pupil supervisor’s course at the Middle Temple in November 2014. He is also a member of the Criminal Bar Association, the Sussex Bar Mess and the South London Bar Mess.

R v LC - Crown Court at Snaresbrook - firearms & possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

R v P - Crown Court at Croydon - a man accused of attempting to rape his landlord’s 9 year old daughter.

R v RM - Crown Court at Snaresbrook - a man alleged to have stabbed his ex-partner through the forehead with a screwdriver.

R v TM & SB - Crown Court at Woolwich - eight-day trial, alleged conspiracy to rob.

R v AM - Crown Court at Croydon - a hospital orderly accused of sexually assaulting a patient detained under the MHA 1983.

R v DC - Crown Court at Kingston - a man accused of sexual activity with and the abduction of a 15 year old girl; a section 28 pre-recorded cross-examination case.

R v NB & ZIS - Crown Court at Snaresbrook - two men accused of the joint possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life.

R v J & S - Crown Court at Snaresbrook - two men accused of aggravated burglary at knifepoint.

R v JL - A 14 year old defendant alleged to have raped a 13 year old girl.


 R v JK - Crown Court at Wood Green - a man tried for a section 18 GBH (near fatality) from 2002, he having absconded for 12 years.

R v KJ - Crown Court at Snaresbrook / Court of Appeal - successfully appealing 6 years imposed following a plea to possession of a Kalashnikov assault rifle & ammunition.

R v TB - Crown Court at Kingston - defending a man accused of the historic sexual abuse of his niece.

R v MS - Crown Court at Worcester - nine-day trial, multiple allegations of rape and the possession of a firearm.

R v GM - Crown Court at Inner London - one of three men accused of aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm.

R v KK - Crown Court at Harrow - a man accused of multiple rapes of his ex-partner.

R v CSP - Crown Court at Snaresbrook - a man sentenced to 7½ years after a plea at trial for possession of firearms (x2) and ammunition.
